Araminta Campbell
Made in Scotland, by Scotland
Beginning her practice as a sole trader in 2014, Araminta established Araminta Campbell as a business in 2016. She remains the Creative Director and key designer, relishing her involvement in every phase of the creation process, from training new handweavers at their Atelier to crafting bespoke woven designs for clients.
“The quality and story behind a hand-crafted item is something that cannot be rivalled. In this world of mechanical development, I feel that the appreciation for handmade items is growing. My passion for hand weaving has developed through my work and experience. Being self-taught in weaving, having graduated with a degree in embroidery, I am able to approach the structured nature of weave organically. I love the complex and mathematical design required and I try to push the boundaries of my knowledge by creating new designs and challenging the limits that can often be very restricting in weaving.”
Araminta Campbell, Founder
Every Araminta Campbell piece is an ode to Scotland. All of their textiles are made right in the heart of the country that inspired their design, using local materials, traditional skills and expert craftsmanship. All of their Signature pieces are designed and handwoven in their own studio and workshop. They partner with carefully selected weaving mills across Scotland for their Heritage Millwoven and MINTA collections as well as their bespoke tweed and tartan projects.
Araminta has designed four limited edition tartans withing her Heritage Millwoven Collection.

Beech Dappled Skies is the essence of Scotland’s woodlands. Araminta draws inspiration from her childhood memories of the beech tree woodland surrounding her family home in Aberdeenshire nestled within the Royal Deeside Corridor. The tartan design beautifully depicts the serene blue skies gently filtering through the dappling leaves of the beach tree woodland.
Highlands at Dawn Araminta remembers her childhood holidays spent exploring the Scottish Highlands at her grandparent’s house and the glorious views during sunrise. Within this tartan you can find the vast skies of the Highland’s, a breathtaking play of colors as the sun peeks over the horizon. Soft blues mingle with warm oranges and gentle greens, echoing the tranquil allure of dawn’s first light, with the deeper blue hinting at the silhouetted trees against the sunrise.
Highlands at Dusk Journey into the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Araminta took inspiration from her childhood holidays spent exploring the Scottish Highlands at her grandparent’s house and the gorgeous views during sunset. She has captured the breathtaking drama as the Scottish highland skies deepen into dusk. A display of stunning dark blues interwoven with a bold red overcheck, mirroring the rugged mountain silhouettes against the setting sun. The clouds catch fire with warm tones that slowly fade into gentle greys, a sight that never fails to leave Araminta in awe.
Every color, a testament to nature’s palette, lovingly obtained by Araminta through natural plant dyes including nettles, indigo, madder, onion skins and logwood. Embrace the artistry of nature, woven into every fiber of this tartan and immerse yourself in the Highlands’ rugged beauty.
