Gifts for the home

The modern Scottish home is welcoming, warm and bright, full of Scottish style. However, the small ruins that are scattered across many parts of Scotland remind us that in days gone by we often lived together under the same roof with our animals.

Happily, nowadays they are more often seen warming up our kitchens on tea towels, aprons, placemats & coasters, or in our living rooms on tiles, pillows and prints. We do love our Highland Cows – or Heilan’ Coos as wee fondly call them – and our sheep. There is something very comforting about them. Perhaps that’s because in echoing our past, these beautifully designed items also reflect who we are today.

Not long after moving to North America I discovered that it wasn’t easy to find these reminders of home and set about changing that. Scottish Creations was launched and now, thanks to our wonderful Scottish designers, we can all have a Heilan’ Coo or a wee sheep sharing our kitchen or living room again.
Whether they are living in Edinburgh, Auchtermuchty or Newtonmore; the big city, the small village, deep in the Highlands or Islands, our independent designers make their homes in Scotland and we are proud to bring them to you.
